A variety of restaurant brands are thanking vets and members of the active-duty military for their service by giving them free meals Saturday on Veteran’s Day. Buffalo Wild Wings, for example, is not only offering free wings and a side of fries to active and retired armed services members, but it also created a video to thank them for their service.
“The servicemen and women that make up the United States armed forces have dedicated their lives to protect our freedom, and we are honored to offer them a small token of gratitude this Veterans Day,” Ben Nelsen, vice president of operations, Buffalo Wild Wings,” said in a company press release.
Below is a partial list of restaurant brands honoring Veteran’s Day.
Muscle Maker Grill
Muscle Maker Grill is honoring veterans and active members of the United States military by giving them a free meal on Veterans Day.
“We are excited to serve all the courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our great country,” Robert E. Morgan, president and CEO, said in a company press release.
Offering more nutritious food options to members of the military is a main focus of the brand as it looks to expand in new markets. As such, Muscle Maker Grill has a location in Freedom Crossing on Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas, and will open additional restaurants at Fort Benning in Georgia in the fall, followed by Fort Bragg in North Carolina in 2018, according to the release
Hot Head Burritos
Hot Head Burritos is offering a BOGO burrito deal to vets or members of the active-duty military who show ID on Veteran’s Day.
“We have so much respect for our military and are glad that we can do something to honor them on Veteran’s Day,” Ray Wiley, CEO of Hot Head Burritos, said in the release. “We hope that many of our active military and retired veterans take some time to enjoy this special.”
Hot Head Burritos was founded in Dayton, Ohio in 2007 ,and has grown to 70 locations in six states.
Fazoli’s
Fazoli’s is showing support to vets this weekend by offering all active, inactive and retired military personnel a free spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce, according to a company press release.
The offer will run from Friday to Sunday. In addition to the Veterans Day weekend offer, Fazoli’s is rolling out an ongoing year-round discount program for veterans by offering 10 percent off any purchase with a military I.D. or in uniform.
“Fazoli’s is proud to support our nation’s military, and there is no greater honor than serving the incredible servicemen and women of our country,” Vice President of Marketing Jodie Conrad, said in the release. “On Veterans Day and all year long, we say thank you to our veterans and active-duty service members by inviting them to enjoy delicious and fresh Italian fare for an unbeatable value.”
Jimboy’s Tacos
Jimboy’s Tacos is giving free meals Saturday to vets with military IDs.
“We have the utmost respect for these men and women and are looking forward to thanking them personally with a free meal when they visit Jimboy’s this Veterans Day, Karen Freeman, president of Jimboy’s Tacos, said in the company press release.
Pizza Inn
Vets and active-duty service men and women with valid ID may receive a free adult buffet Saturday at participating restaurants.
Back Yard Burgers
Back Yard Burgers is giving free classic burgers to vets and active-duty service men and women in uniform or those with a valid ID, according to a company press release.
“This is our small thank you to the men and women who serve our country and we are honored to have them join us on Veteran’s Day for a Classic Burger,” David McDougall, CEO of Back Yard Burgers, said in the release. “Several of our team members have served, which makes our commitment to honoring the military even more important.”
In addition to serving Veterans free burgers on Veteran’s Day, Back Yard Burgers offers a 20 percent discount to service men and women year-round
Cicis Pizza
Vets and active-duty service men and women with valid IDs may receive a free adult buffet Saturday at CiCis Pizza.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Veterans who eat at Dickey’s Saturday, are eligible for a free meal, which includes a sandwich, side and a Big Yellow Cup, up to a $12 total value, according to a company press release.
As a thank you to the families and loved ones of the veterans, Dickey’s is also offering anyone in the party that dines with a veteran a free Big Yellow Cup with purchase.
“The Dickey family thanks all of our nation’s veterans for their service, and is proud to give back to them in any way we can,” Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, said in the release. “Dickey’s has more than 560 locations throughout the nation, giving us the opportunity to proudly serve veterans everywhere delicious, Texas-style barbecue.”
Dickey’s will also give veterans’ loved ones the opportunity to nominate them to win a free family pack (feeds four to six people) every month for a year. This fast-growing Midwest chain is giving away free three-topping pizzas to veterans and active-duty military who show IDs on Saturday. Rapid Fired co-founder, Ray Wiley said in a release, “Rewarding members of the Armed Forces is very important to our company. We love being able to say thank you to the heroes that have selflessly served our country. It’s a pleasure to serve those who give up so much to serve us.”
